Opening Reception: Saturday, May 23, 2015, 2 – 5pm
In this two-person exhibition, Port Moody artist Shamina Senaratne and Burnaby artist, Christie Lim present a collection of their respective new works in fibre. While each artist’s voice and body of work is distinct, Senaratne and Lim both work with layers of meaning and material. The transparency and translucency of the fabric they each frequently work with immediately reveals how each work has been made and how looking and seeing through words and images changes meanings. And, through a unique installation, each artist’s work will also be seen through the work of the other.
