Event Details

On June 11th 2022 the first ever finals happened for the new singing contest based in Coquitlam (with contestants from the Comox Valley, POCO, and various other parts of the Lower Mainland.) Thousands of dollars of prizes were awarded, including $8,000 work of scholarships to NIMBUS School of Music, recording opportunities, Giggle Dam gift certificates, Long & McQuade gift cards, signed Mother Mother tee shirts, a prized opening slot at Evergreen Cultural Centre, a show for the top 4 winners, over $500 in website hosting, and many many more amazing prizes. The top four of the night consisting of Ea Ritchie 14, Annika Trask 18, Willem Roelents 25, and Judy Johnson 58. Our youngest competitor miss Estella Banez 8, was among our highest scorers and went home with a pretty sweet guitar. SusieMcGregor (the events producer) prides herself on running events with a goal of celebrating and awarding as much talent as possible, so every finalist walked away with something (Madi McLaughlin 12, Cody Hanson 27, Téa Kohli 19, Meghan Potter 16, Estella Banez 8).

The Dare to Shine producers have no intention of stopping now! Registration for next years event will open early November of this year. In the meantime the winners showcase, in which each of our top 4 will be performing a few songs, will be happening on September 24th, tickets available now. Susie is also hosting a Sound of Music sing-a-long production on December 7th.The producer herself Susie McGregor has her own return to the stage scheduled for February the 11th and will have Ea Ritchie, the overall winner opening for her. All live shows will be held at Evergreen Cultural Centre.
