Event Details

Join Vancouver-based artist Germaine Koh for a discussion of her creative enterprise and current exhibition Home Made Home. Featuring functional structures, archival photos, architectural presentation panels, and Lululiving—a 170 square foot house on wheels—the exhibition Home Made Home draws attention to creative, modest approaches to modern living. A self-proclaimed amateur, Koh proposes a do-it-yourself mentality to the challenges of our current housing climate that combines civic engagement with a critical art practice. Koh will elaborate on her recent creative enterprise—also called “Home Made Home”—which is meeting real needs and reimagining models for home and community through the construction of custom design-builds, prototypes, habitable sculptures and gallery installations. Koh will share her experiences as a self-taught builder, including lessons learned, past projects, and how small living and art connect.

Come early or stay after the talk to visit Lululiving. Free to attend.
