Get ready for an evening of hilarity, sharp wit, physical comedy and laugh-out-loud jokes as three of the best young Stand-Up Comedians in Vancouver descend upon Evergreen! Come have a drink with us and watch Syd Campbell, Erin Purghart and DJ On put their best foot forward and leave you in stitches with their respective unique brands of humour!
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
DJ ON | DJ On’s cadence and aloof stage presence will inspire you, make you belly laugh and fall in love! His stand up is deeply personal, and is influenced by his experiences as a queer person of colour. He combines his innate comedic wit with his experience as a touring musician. When you see DJ perform, expect hilarious pop songs detailing his romantic sagas, mental health and other inspiring takes on the human condition that will make you go “I feel seen.”
ERIN PURGHART | Erin Purghart is a multidisciplinary comedian, actor & producer based in Lower Mainland, BC. They have been doing comedy, on the record, for a decade now, but, off the record, they haven’t spent a second of their life serious. Erin graduated from UBC with her BFA in Acting in 2021, and has since worked as an improviser nd stand-up comedian, a theatre and film actor, and has started her own comedy show that she host and produces called That’s gay! comedy (@thatsgaycomedy).
Recent comedy credits include: Alma Matters Productions, People You May Know, QueerProv, That’s gay! comedy, and Tightrope Impro Theatre.
Recent acting credits include: For Now (Green Thumb Theatre), Heart of Gold (Noema Productions), Amphitruo (United Players), & JUGGLE ME NOT (Axis Theatre).
SYD CAMPBELL | Syd Campbell (they/them) is a queer comedian working as an improviser, stand-up, sketch writer and performer, director, and instructor. They’re an alum of Rapid Fire Theatre where they improvised as a member of the senior ensemble, as well as taught through Rapid Fire’s outreach program, and the Citadel’s Foote Theatre School, since 2016. Syd now teaches sketch and improv with Blind Tiger Comedy, improv with Tightrope Theatre, and is the Director of Education for the Queerprov Improv Society. They currently perform improv weekly with Treatshow Comedy, and perform stand up sets on various shows. Syd writes and performs sketch comedy with their troupe Gender? I Hardly Know Them, just finishing up both a national tour, and the filming of the first season of the Gender? I Hardly Know Them Web series just last year.
