Event Details
Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art. One day each year – April 15 in 2023 – people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly.
Participants are invited to look at three selected works of art for 10 minutes each and then meet as a group to discuss this experience of the exhibition Jin-me Yoon: Long Time So Long.
ABOUT THE ACTIVITY
Slow Looking starts at 2:30PM in the Art Gallery. This part of the activity is self-directed so feel free to come early and take as much time as you wish. Prompts will be available to guide your looking, listening and feeling experience.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Long Time So Long presents a new body of multimedia work by acclaimed Korean-born, Vancouver-based artist Jin-me Yoon. The exhibition combines photography, video and a soundscape of collective humming featuring the voices of local youth of Korean ancestry. Yoon’s art explores our collective grappling with the pandemic, from a diasporic perspective and with a focus on rest, repair and coming together in difference.
