This wonderful family show from Iceland depicts the constantly changing nature of our existence and our perception. Nothing remains the way it seems, as it does not matter what we see but how we see it.The cast consists of the most intricate marionettes and rod puppets carved of wood, as well as unforgettable characters created simply with silk scarves and the hands and feet of the puppeteer.

ABOUT THE SHOW!

What poetry offers to literature, puppetry can bring to the theatre. Metamorphosis is a collection of original short stories told not with words but with the metaphorical grace of puppetry. The vignettes range from the trivial to the metaphysical and emphasize the imagery made possible through the surrealistic quality inherent in puppetry. Metamorphosis depicts the constantly changing nature of our existence and our perception. Nothing remains the way it seems as it does not matter what we see but how we see it. The cast consists of intricate marionettes and rod puppets carved of wood, as well as unusual characters created simply with silk scarves and the hands and feet of the puppeteer. Bernd Ogrodnik leaves his audience with images that occupy them long after leaving the theatre, strengthening them in dealing with the ‘theatre of daily life‘.

“Worlds of Puppets” serves as a production company of performances and special creations of Puppets, Marionettes and Masks for Theater, Opera, Film and Television. The artistic director of the company is the world known puppet maker and artist, Bernd Ogrodnik, who has gained recognition and respect from the puppetry community worldwide for his work and creations.

Worlds of Puppets operate a theatre in Reykjavik, Iceland, based at the National Theatre of Iceland, where Bernd Ogrodnik serves as the Master Puppeteer. The Company frequently travels to all corners of the world, performing, directing and offering Master-Classes and seminars to Universities, Festivals, Theaters and other Organizations.
