FALL SPEAKEASY SESSIONS AT EVERGREEN
IN-PERSON EVENTS ARE BACK – ALL SHOWS ARE ON SALE NOW!
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE “BEES KNEES”.
It’s time to get together again! The Roaring 2020’s are here, and the events prohibition is officially over at Evergreen, but we’re keeping a low profile – you never know if the ‘prohibition’ will return. Starting this October, we’ve transformed our studio theatre for a new series of intimate, in-person performances at Evergreen with our Fall Speakeasy Sessions. We’ll be slowly releasing our full line up over the month of September on social media, but you can secure your spot at any speakeasy starting on September 01, 2020.
However, we’ve had to make some big changes to the way we usually run our live concerts and performances in order to bring new events to the Tri-Cities, and there will only be 50 seats available per performance! Our new series of live events is going to be “berries” (great), so get your “glad rags” (evening clothes) off of the back shelf for some safe, swanky fun this fall. We can’t wait to reconnect with you in a safe and accessible way.
HERE’S ALL “THE RUMBLE” (THE NEWS) SO FAR:
Our Speakeasy Sessions highlight a variety of performing arts disciplines to bring our audiences back to the theatre in an exciting new way.
Featuring a great mix of “spiffy” (neat) local artists, and peppered with some “keen” (appealing) Evergreen Regulars, each one of our twelve artists will be performing two shows on the same day, a matinee and an evening performance. That means you’ll have twenty-four chances to catch a live performance with an exclusive group of other arts lovers in our theatre this fall. Each performance will be approximately one-hour long with no intermission, and we’ll have enhanced safety procedures in place during all performances, as well as scheduled sanitization breaks between the two performance times.
Our amazing Tech Team, alongside our Joint Health and Safety Committee, has re-imagined our Studio Theatre to create a safe space for you and your family to reconnect with the arts. To set the mood for our new, Speakeasy-inspired fall events, our regular theatre seating has been changed into a flat floor, ‘cabaret-style’ seating arrangement. This new look will help us ensure proper physical distancing between our patrons, and it also lowers our theatre capacity so that our in-person events meet the guidelines set by BC’s Public Health Officials. We hope that these changes to our fall events will maximize your enjoyment of the night’s performance, while helping to minimize your time with audience members outside of your own group. However, this also means we have had to change the way we normally sell tickets.

FALL SPEAKEASY TABLE PRICES
For our Fall Speakeasy Sessions, we will be selling tables, not tickets, to each of our performances.
We will be offering tables for groups of 4, and tables for groups of 2 to each show. Tables set specifically for groups of two will have the option to add-on additional seats to their table.
You will need to call our Box Office to purchase additional seats, so we can plan our event seating to ensure proper distance between each bubble of visitors joining us for the show. We know this complicates the process of buying more seats, but by starting our table prices for groups of two we’ll be able to ensure more members of our community can afford to join us for an in-person experience.

A MESSAGE FROM THE “BIG CHEESE”
If you can call yourself a regular audience member at Evergreen, then you’ll recognize our General Arts Manager, David Mann. David oversees all the arts programming at our centre, and is the mastermind behind our new collection of fall events. Here’s a little message from the Mann himself:
“Live Performance is Back at Evergreen!
I am thrilled to bring our loyal patrons a new series of Performing Arts presentations designed for our new collective reality in the 2020/21 season. The EVERGREEN CABARET SERIES is designed to create a fun opportunity to safely enjoy live performance experiences again!
Things were looking pretty bleak – and awfully quiet! – when we had to cancel all the shows that were booked from mid-March to the end of our 2019/20 Season and through next May. But things are changing! With full Covid-19 safety measures in place and socially-distanced cabaret-style seating in our Studio Theatre, we are offering a unique series of shows this fall, with another Speakeasy series to follow in the new year.“
