Something More than Nothing brought together projects by a range of artists who all deal in some way with notions of hidden or invisible labour: work that is not seen, valued, or adequately paid. From domestic or care work, to digital and tech labour that is increasingly performed in the home as piece work, to the hidden labour that is inherent in the art world itself, all the artwork in this exhibition drew attention to labour that, although often overlooked or ignored, is nevertheless essential – work that is fundamentally Something More than Nothing.
This exhibition was organized by The Reach Gallery, Abbotsford and curated by Adrienne Fast, Curator of Art and Visual Culture.
